Shane graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2019 with a B.S. in Ocean Engineering (Renewable Energy Track) and started his professional career in the dredging world where he was responsible for hydrographic surveying, quality control, health and safety, and environmental reporting. Most recently, Shane worked as an operating and marine systems engineer in the tidal energy industry. In this role, he helped operate the United States’ first grid-connected marine hydrokinetic power project located at Roosevelt Island in New York and also served as a technical lead on the Morlais Demonstration Zone project located in West Anglesey, Wales where he worked on developing full-scale commercial marine energy systems for implementation around the globe. Shane joins the US team as a project consultant.
