Authoring the Renewable Construction Academy's T&I 01 - Project T&I Development course
Project Summary
client
RECOA
Location
UK
Duration
2025
Key services
Construction & Logistics, Port Assessment, Project Cost Models, Project Design Envelope, Installation Management
Aim
To equip offshore wind professionals with a clear, practical understanding of Transportation & Installation (T&I) during the development phase of a project. The objective was to build capability in defining robust T&I strategies, understanding cost drivers such as DEVEX and CAPEX, and translating early-stage concepts into realistic, deliverable construction and logistics plans.
Outcome
OCA delivered a full course content to RECOA, where participants gain a structured understanding of how T&I decisions influence project viability, cost and schedule. By the end of the course, learners are able to assess installation methods, select appropriate equipment, develop bottom‑up cost estimates and identify key risks. The hands‑on case study strengthens confidence by applying theory to a realistic offshore wind scenario.
How did OCA get this result?
OCA structured the course around real project challenges, combining strategic planning, financial principles, logistics and risk management. Through practical examples and a GIS‑based exercise, learners develop and test a complete T&I strategy, bridging the gap between development planning and offshore execution.
